They are scammers!!! I cancel my booking 2 months ago and still no refund! They just stole my money. Do not book beds at this hostel!!!
i don't have very high expectations when travelling in hostels but this one was disgusting. the rooms are really dirty, the showers are falling apart, at night people who are clearly high or drunk roam around. one night someone was taking a shower ; he asked me if he could check in under my name. he might have been homeless or just looking for a place to stay without paying. avoid this hostel, seriously.
I backpacked South America for 6 months and this was my favourite hostel on my trip. The staff and volunteers in particular made my experience unforgettable. Helio Gracie’s old BJJ academy is a 5 minute walk away and Milton Viera’s MMA school a 10 minute walk, making this ideal for someone training martial arts in Rio on a budget.
Simply the best hotel i have ever been to, clean, good atmosphere, good location, rooms w air con, real good stuff. And of course last but not least important the price is compatible with the reality.
Very well located. Budget friendly prices. Friendly stuff. Well equipped kitchen. Moderately clean. Cool atmosphere. Will go back.
